    Hi All,

Firstly, a HUGE Thank You to @shifty` and whoever else contributed to the "So you just bought a 1st gen" sticky. It was enormously helpful in guiding my purchase. I'm in New England so there's only so much I can do about rust, but managed to pickup a 2002 SR5 AC 4x4, Auto V8 with a new frame. 160k and light rust here and there, but none on the cab. Stellar Blue got me the truck, someone was coming to buy it before me, but delayed a day to convince his wife on the color!

Anyway, I've been lurking for about 3 weeks, got the truck, have been digging through the forum reading a ton, bought some basics, brakes etc, but I have a specific issue I couldn't find directly addressed.

TL;DR: When moving the gear selector, the truck shifts fine,(indicates Park to start etc) but the indicator on the dash is one step behind when going down PRND21 and mostly correctly indicates the gear when going up 12DNRP. The shifter lever casting is cracked in the thin spot, but it isn't loose. The plastic cable connection in the column is intact. Where should I check first?
