Getting ready to do my differential services soon and was wondering if anyone was using an additive to boost the oils performance.

    if so, which one?

No additional additives needed. Pick a high quality synthetic oil of the correct weight and you have all the performance you need. Modern oils are formulated with advanced additive packages that far exceed the ad-packs of 20 years ago in terms of anti friction, anti wear, etc. Pick a brand for your budget that is available and enjoy. Mobil 1 has treated me well for years; Mobil Delvac is currently doing well for me. Redline, Castrol, Valvoline, all make quality oils that I’ve used with satisfactory results. Or you can step up to a more boutique oil like Amsoil, High Performance Lubricants, Schaefer’s, etc. just beware the rabbit hole that exists to snatch your soul as you obsess over centistokes, polyalphaolefins, and Novak Volatility…

In all serious, a high quality synthetic doesn’t need any additives - like a quality steak doesn’t need steak sauce..

As blenton said, no need for any additives. Synthetic gear lubes are pack with sulfurized additives, and phosphate ester additives, which are the key to gear lubricity.
