gas rang showing more after aftermarket stereo upgrade

Weird, my gas range is now in the 580 range, it use to be in the high 400's or low 500's. This happened after a fill-up after I did a stereo upgrade. Anyone else experience this? Probably not, maybe i'm just crazy.

 

The battery was disconnected so everything got reset. The range to empty will settle back down in a tank or 2.

 

Mine does that too when the battery is disconnected. Then I just sit back and wait for the full fillup reading 408 miles till empty (38 gl)

 

Yeah. Battery disconnect reset it. Mine goes up to 500s too then back to low 400s after a couple of tanks.

 

I reset mine once in a while to just give me hope.

I get disappointed later on but for that brief instance I think I am driving a Yugo
