My mpg is 14 on a good day. Gas was up to 3.60 a gal as of today. It's a pretty good shock filling up a 38 gal tank..... at least it's paid off..... but damn.

If I were to base my opinion by how reckless people have been driving recently, I would have to say that gas prices aren't high enough...:goingcrazy::bikewheelie2::burnrubber:

I’m getting the same mileage as a modded Tacoma. Was actually getting about 15 mpg with 35s, bumper + winch, belly skids and sliders. But, I am easy on the skinny pedal.

Edit: I have the smaller tank and gas is $3.90 where I’m at. Still doesn’t feel too bad.

Hmm. Hasn't been bad in my area as far as that goes. Was reading an article today on how all the covid19 and associated shortages were prob going to drive prices up to 4 a gal, and weay not get the fall lowering due to hurricane season and trucker shortage. Most the time with my tunny I figure it as an eb and flow thing with gas prices but if it stays there long enough idk... May have to rethink if this turns to a long term deal.

Gas is $4.59 for 87 where I live in SF Bay Area.

Easy on the pedal, but still loving my truck.

I wish I could get that. I'm 13-14 average on 33s. I wanted to make the bump to 35s but if this drags out I doubt I will.

I don't think I could enjoy it at those prices. It would give me heartburn.

I am the guy that people drive around when going from a stop. I drive speed of traffic +/- but am easy on the skinny from a stop. Seems to help a lot when moving the giant mass of a truck.

I am the same way, but living in the mountains I think is what kills me. I coast as much as I can and I don't run hard (have a hotrod for that)

Yea my justification is that it's paid off but it's getting harder and harder to tell myself that lol it's not that I can't afford it but I look at my gas bill and go damn......there's so much other crap I could spend that on lol

I mean don't get me wrong, I love the tundra and tbh it's not really even a tundra issue more than it is a fullsize truck issue. I think for me its becoming a bigger issue given I really don't have the need for a full size anymore like I used to. I could get away with a midsized home depot Hauler and be good LOL of course as I say this I'm preparing to tow 7k lbs 1000 miles ........ but after that I won't need its capability anymore lol

I commute 45 min one way to work every day. I average 15.3 mpg running the speed limit on the interstate (says with a sarcastic voice) but gas here is averaging $2.87 per gal

I think 87 octane is around $3.10 or so in my area. Truck has been paid off since 2012, and the new car got paid off a few months ago. So I am not yet economically impeded by fuel prices at this point.

If gas over $3/gallon is significantly impacting your budget you can’t afford to drive a truck unless it’s earning you money and fuel is a write off.

Gas is still only 2.80/gal here so with 26gal tank, not so bad!

Shit, I get like 13mpg on a good day and happy to find 91 for under $4. At least I don't live in California, I went to lake Tahoe area a week ago and it was $5/gal for 87 octane  oh well, spending $70 on an oil change every 5k and nothing else is worth it imo

No chance I’d be driving a tundra or truck at those gas prices :rofl:it’s not even about budget, I’d rather spend my money on other things than fuel for a vehicle. I’d make do with a rav4 and smaller utility trailer. I haven’t seen it that high in my area since diesel was $5 back in 2008 I think. $45-50 for a quarter of a tank for a broke high school kid was not easy

I drive my Truck like I stole it. I'm courteous around other drivers but if I'm alone I'll haul ass until I reach traffic again. I get gas at Sam's club at a consistent 3.199 for premium and average 14mpg, if I want to conserve gas I'll drive the 4runner.

Yea when I bought the tundra that was my plan..... of course things have changed a bit for me since then. My tundra is more or less a home depot Hauler, dump runner, and offroad camping rig now as I'm not really towing anymore like I was. Idk, this will pass I'm sure but it's really upsetting the cheap bastard inside me :annoyed::spending:

Just do the math on that carefully as it will take you a long time to break even by trading in a truck that's paid off for one that gets sightly better fuel economy. Also, get real world numbers if you can. The Tundra tends to get pretty close to its EPA numbers in the real world while the others tend to do worse. And if you're towing with a gas engine, you're pretty much going to get 10 mpg, regardless of what you're driving.

Also, if you're going to dump the truck for a car, make sure you're able to stick with it. If you're going to be miserable and wanting to get back in a truck in 2 years, it will have all been a waste of time and money.
