so here in San Antonio people are lining up for gas. The lines are super long and the place I go was up about a quarter per gallon from yesterday. I don't know if the shortage is real or perceived but Harvey's impact on refineries is definitely got people in a panic about running out of gas. I just passed a convenience store with lines over 20 cars deep.

Yep....and our gas here comes from the north refineries in Wyoming and such. I wouldn't want to be a claims adjustor right about ......NOW..... Imagine how many flooded cars will somehow make it to used car lots......

I live just north of San Antonio and it's crazy. People are panicing thinking there is a gas shortage. So all the gas stations either have 20 plus cars or they already ran out of gas. Most gas stations in S.A. have already ran out because people are buying them out. Lots of talk that gas may be out for the next 7-10 days! That seems insane to me and hard to believe. Social media sometimes can cause people to panic over a persons post or a rumor.

Actually this is the best time to be an adjuster, cat adjuster, private adjuster or independent consultant. I worked as an independent consultant during IKE and the money is extremely good! Actually some Private Adjusters or PA's make 250k or more in year! They are dealing with huge multi million dollar losses and they get a portion of the settlement with the insurance company since their hired by the insurance holder.

I noticed some fuel stations in Colorado Springs jumped up .20 or more on gasoline. Diesel is still 2.34 gallon.

It's great money if you want. You get paid perdiams for food, hotels and you get paid very well either hourly or per claim.

During Ike I knew a company that made over a millions of dollars just installing blue tarps for FEMA on homes. Fema had a set rate per square ft of blue tarps they installed.

Hold the Line! If you are not holding the line, abandon your ship. Destruction is inevitable without more to hold the line!
I am in OKC and gas jumped $0.10 just after the hurricane. However the lines are no worse than normal.

Charlotte, NC here... filled up Monday anticipating the gas hike that was likely to come, glad I did! Jumped up $.30-40 a gallon in a day. Supply is fine, no lines.

I get paid well but my medical bills are starting to pile up. Nothing I can't handle. Unfortunately our Houston Calibration Lab has severe damage and our Denver lab is going to start getting a lot of test equipment sent here from our other satellite labs that would usually go to Houston.... OT big time.

One tank of gas is better than nothing but i feel just more comfortable having 40 gallons in reserve at all times. I have 8 of the good jerry cans. Expensive but i like them. https://wavianusa.com/olive-od-5-3-gallon-can.html
Yea so im a little into prepping.

Crude is crude. World spot price. Refined crude is a different animal, especially when you have a major artery pipe fail that moves refined fuel to many states...price goes up. All about delivery and demand usually .All about moving refined products which is at a stand still down south. Economics 101.

Down here the gas lines were crazy on Monday evening/night rumors of a gas shortage had everyone in a panic. Yesterday gas jumped 20 cents from 2.19 to 2.39 a gallon.
