Not in my experience. I've only had 1 bad gas experience, it was at a completely No Name Yellow building gas station, never again - who knows where they got that watered down stuff.

No. Pretty much all brands of gas are refined at the same refineries locally. The only difference is the additives/detergents/cleaners that the brands add, which happens right before the tanker truck leaves the refinery. At a Chevron refinery I have worked at, there were stations for several brands that trucks would pull into for the additives.

Im kinda in a related industry, we remove the tanks and tank systems and clean up the mess.

what I can tell you is go with top-tier fuel and what's really important is the maintenance of the local station, there are fuel filters, water monitors in the tanks, vapor recovery systems, etc that will allow more containments in if not well kept up. Some of these shithole stations where the pump is slow is not only because the pump is warn out, fuel filter clogged, etc.

I will say that these engines(3.5L turbo direct injection) are more sensitive to fuel than a port injected V8, but in general they should run fine on most any brand.

that said, I have filled my Ecoboost at Maverick a couple times and it really does suck. Every time I ran Maverick my MPG’s tanked. I have also had a bad tank at Sinclair once or twice. I try to stick to Exxon, Chevron, Shell and, if I have to, P66.
