Fyi using your mod front bumper

Just a heads up any members that have the big front bumper put on. Don't use it to push another vehicle. It could set off front air bag. Im retire flatfoot scout cars with push bumpers when pushing a stranded vehicle sometime sent the air bag into our faces not nice !

 

How do patrol cars get around that? Their airbags still work in an accident but they can use the push bar for pit maneuvers and boxing other cars in. I wonder if the sensitivity is dialed down somehow.

I have to admit I chuckled a little. Hear you guys are doing a nice deed and helping someone out. Then Boom airbag in your face!

That had to scare the crap out of you!

 

We were driving crown victories and it got to the point the department put out an order that we could not use the push bumpers to move vehicles ! I still did for disabled or older citizens. I just very slowly approached the stranded vehicle never had a problem.. I don't know with new suv scout cars even have push bumpers installed.Fyi these push bumpers were not installed by ford The cars were sent out to get lights radios and bumper mods.
