I never liked their LBJs compared to OEM anyway.

I'm pretty surprised. Sankei makes good stuff.

Just like my buddy on prom night, his evening was ruined due to lack of hardness of a critical component. Although I'm sure Sankei's issue wasnt the result of too much whisky.

I replaced my LBJ's with Moog in 2016 and will be checking for the markings listed in the morning. The crazy thing is I had ordered mevotechs and returned them for Moogs because they were supposed to be better.

Can't go wrong with OEM. Just a little more cost up front but worth it for the piece of mind.

The recalled components are branded MOOG, NAPA, and ACDelco

Yes - I went with OEM after a search of just this forum, so many bad results of catastrophic failures. It appears that they are under tension while loaded AND unloaded. Local inspection requirements missed my bad LBJ as they always check it on a lift. The price difference isn't much either when ordered through the parts networks.

Luckily - they are easy to change but my guess is that there will be a rush to order OEM replacements which could lead to a shortage.

If you read the actual recall notice there are ~ 6500 units affected in total, all brands.

I've seen it written here 20 or 30 times over the years that you shouldn't use aftermarket lower ball joints and we still had a few people argue they were fine. I wouldn't chance it for such an important part. Let's pray Toyota never discontinues the ball joints like they are other parts.

You're right. It's just not a piece of mind, but that's your life. Saving $150 for your life isn't worth it. :)
