I am a tiny bit annoyed they used 75W90 Gear Oil when I asked for OEM Gear Oil (75W85) for Rear and Front Diff....

It is what it is, this truck will almost never drive in sub 0 climate so it doesn't really matter.

Damn, I was thinking labor on plugs to be close to $1k, maybe hybrids have more crap in the way

The dealer I went to has a flat rate for Spark Plugs based on the number of cylinders... weird, but I'll take it.

75w 85 just helps with that .001% fuel increase the slightly heavier 90 weight will protect a little better. Won't cause any issue.

A dealer will have that in bulk and can use in a lot of applications, saves them money

Yeah that seems like a great price for the dealership. I had an independent shop quote me almost $600 for a V8...I did it myself

I was quoted $600+ for spark plug change, alone, at the service department I used to use. I’ve got some miles left until it’s time and haven’t checked at other service departments, yet (all 1.5hrs away for non-shady…closest are the shadiest, of course).

On previous threads about spark plug replacement, the typical dealership charge was $500-600.

So, yeah, I think you got a good deal.

I've saved a copy of your invoice to show my service rep when my truck is due for plugs. Not that it will matter, but maybe.

That cost for 4x4 service though… oof.

Glad you got the deal on the plugs

Believe it or not, I called 2 independent shops and 2 dealers and this was the cheapest for 4x4 service. They were all quoting ~$700 for 4x4 service.

Next time I will do my own 4x4 service....

Maybe it's just me but the cost for changing the 4x4 system oils is insane. I haven't done my Tundra yet but on my past Tacoma and other trucks the labor is almost trivial. The charge for the plugs seems reasonable, however.

That price is crazy. Invoice suggests they used BG products... BG makes a bunch of "mechanic in a can" type products for transmissions, fuel systems, etc (generally, well regarded). I didn't realize they were selling lubricants now. That's part of the problem with your bill; I would prefer to have OEM fluids for that price, including the coveted unicorn sperm oil in the transfer case.

So, is the 4X4 System Service just changing the fluids in the diffs and t-case?

Is that a 40K service item like the spark plugs?

Sorry, I don't have my manuals handy right now.

4X4 System Service is changing the fluids on Diffs and T Case along with an inspection. This is option if you don't Tow or Offroad often.

    40K Service is spark plugs.

Right - $500 profit there they can afford to do the plugs cheap.
