Yesterday after being on the road for 15-20 minutes, I heard a beep and looked down into may cluster my anti-collision radar light was lit. Tried to scroll through to see if I accidentally hit a button, but there's no option for that I think. Cruise control still works, but radar and lane departure camera are both off.

I called the service department and reported it and scheduled and first nonofficial oil change 2nd oil change at the same time. 4800 miles on the clock. But after a few minutes of driving it went away and did not come back.

I installed a leveling kit around 600 miles and can add a rake with the use of airbags. I had no issues with TSS from day one. Even after I painted the grill surround.

I'll update this post when I see them Friday afternoon.

I had some oddities in the TSS system like what you are describing, but mine were caused by frost on the grille and windshield. With you being in Florida I doubt that is the problem, but was there anything else obstructing it or the camera? Bird poop, perhaps? Really just a random guess.

I did thought about something like that. Debris getting caught by the grill, lizards hitchhiking, etc.

Most systems from most manufactures that use radar/camera will inactivate it if the sensor/camera is blocked. Happens to both my Lexus and Honda in snow/ice. My guess is even if there's enough dirt and/or bugs at some point the system will shutdown.

This happened to my 2020 Tundra the day I was driving it home from the dealer. It was about a 100 miles drive in 25F weather and raining. The light came on intermittently for the whole drive.

The same thing happened to my 2019 Tacoma. The dealer put some kinda of 'water resistance' tape covering the sensor housing on it. Didn't solve the problem but did made things better. After their 'fix' the light only came on maybe once or twice more until I traded the truck in 6 months later.

I plan to have the same fix applied to my Tundra.

Only time I’ve had issues is when it gets covered in snow, very heavy rain, bugs or dirt.

Toyota bought back my 2018 tundra because of this. Could be way more than debris. Make sure you take it in every time it does it to document it for Toyota corporate. They ask for those records even though they can get them themselves.

Unless it’s snow covered, then you know what the issue is.

This is a known issue on 2018 and newer Tundras with TSS. Document and report each and every incident to Toyota.

OP, I wouldn't be too concerned. If the front sensor gets covered with rain, snow, ice, condensation etc. it will stop working. Normal.

I had this issue on my 2018 CM and my current 2020 DC. But only in severe weather like freezing rain or sticky snow. I used to be worked up about it and got the sensor replaced on the first Tundra I owned a few times. But looking back it's not a big deal. I just wipe the sensor now and clean any debris on it from freezing rain and turn the truck off and back on and it goes away. It's a shitty design and I just work around it.
