Future tundra owner, hopefully

I’m an old retired guy in arkansas. Ive always owned Chevy 4x4 trucks. I have also had tacomas as real hunting trucks. Still do have a 97 Tacoma 4x4 with 230k on it. Still runs and drives well. I decided to join this forum when i made the decision to buy a 2023 tundra. Buying a tundra “like you want” is apparently not that easy. So, i thought i might get on here and get some guidance from some SME’s. Anyway, its nice have some access to real info that you can most likely trust.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! No, if you are very specific about the color and all the options you want, you're fighting an uphill battle. If you are flexible and work with several different dealers, you will likely get almost everything you want.

Welcome from OKC! Beware there have been some ugly stories on the new trucks. Trim falling off, trim breaking, water leaking in, motors spinning bearings, etc. Glad I bought old faithful 2021.

Thanks for the welcomes and suggestions! Here is an update in my pursuit of a 23 lunar rock trd offroad tundra:

1 sent requests to 4 others dealers in state.
2 one called and said his boss told him Toyota dosnt make trd off road in lunar rock
3 one called said if they got one they would call
4 one called last week and said he could put in direct order and get one. Have not heard from him since and cant get ahold of him.
5 told my initial dealer that i would take an army green. He said ok. See what we can do

Also, the dealer that said they don’t have trd off road in lunar rock told me that Toyota doesn’t sell the factory lift kit.

I am going to update other dealers on the army green preference.

I’m not mad. I don’t have to have the truck. But, i want it. We will see what happens
