Plenty of room and still tucked up above the bottom of the skid.

I had the longer one with my RCI skids, and had no problems. I used the hose to prevent mess and recommend it.

The fitting where the hose attaches - correct. You can easily reach it but it isnt likely to get smacked on the road or trail.

You remove the hose and store it. The nipple stays above the skids. You'd have to have a seriously hard impact to damage it.

Thanks guys! No off road intended but there are 4 versions and I like the longer nipple for the hose connection.

Not sure which model number mine is. I have the RCI skid plates. Fumoto valve is up enough and out of the way. I think it’s well protected. I just installed mine and haven’t used it yet. Next oil change will be the 1st time using it. It looks like I won’t need a hose since skid plate has a notch cut in to give room for the oil change. D1ABF124-6B6F-4E75-91DB-4938BC705527.jpg

Also that notch in the skid plate gave enough room for the regular oil drain bolt to be removed and had no mess with the oil.

I use a piece of hose that came with my filter drain kit and go straight into a 5 qt jug. Only problem is I have to stay under the truck for the first 3 qts and switch jugs.
