Hello, I purchased an 04 Tundra last year and love it! A couple of months ago I started having issues fueling the vehicle (I live in California). When I insert the nozzle and attempt to pump fuel, it shuts off as if the tank is full. I've blown out the fill tube from underneath and yesterday replaced the EV canister and purge valve. When I went to fuel the truck this morning the same issue persisted. Any pearls of wisdom on what might be wrong here? I might also mention that I received no error codes. Truck runs great, just takes 30 minutes to fill it up. Thank you in advance for your help. - Walt

My 03 has done this forever. I have to hold the pump just right to fuel up, if it moves at all the pump shuts off.

Yes, it does help if I reduce the flow of fuel. I can fill the tank but it takes between 30-35 minutes as long as I just barely squeeze the nozzle. "the BIGnaud" I have tried and several stations and experience the same problem. At first, I thought something was wrong with the pump at my local Costco. Darkness, I've done a kama sutra of sorts with the pump and get the same results at all angles. I'm just a bit baffled as I thought for sure replacing the EV canister would have rectified the problem. I should be honest and state that right before this happened I may have topped off my tank a bit excessively. Thank you everyone for your replies. I appreciate you all!

Sounds like you’ve tried various angles and techniques, but when I had a similar problem filling one of my cars I found if I pulled the nozzle out as far as possible (without it falling out) I could get it to fill normally.

I learned my lesson there, and yes I replaced the carbon canister and the purge valve.

I used to have fueling issues with a 77 GMC I once owned. I could not fuel it a stations with the evap nozzles. I found the only way was to rotate the nozzle handle 180 degrees and then it would fill.
