I have a 2013 tundra with a v6. The other day I heard my fuel pump running. It had been at least 5 hours since it was last running. Is this something it does to maintain a prime on the fuel system?

Are you sure it was the fuel pump? The EVAP system has a pump that will run when the truck is off to test the EVAP system. Normal condition.

That could possibly be it. I just had never heard it before and the sound was coming from the fuel tank, and I assumed it was the fuel pump.

My 2010 used to do it. Would run for a few seconds hours after the truck was parked.
