For the first time is over 2 years my pick up used any coolant at all. Checked it the other day and it was down past the fins a little bit. And then I checked the oil and it was kinda weird looking so I smelled it and it smelled like fuel pretty good. What else can it be other then worn out rings or a stuck injector? Or i hear from a tech friend of mind about some not getting enough juice and something to do with the dwell timing of the injectors.

Not usually. Drove it 100 miles the last trip the night before I found the problem. But who's to say it hasn't been like that for the last few hundred miles. I do all my own work and change oil and filter and shit regularly. Just put a used tranny from an 04 in basically by myself, needed help getting a few bolts started that was it.

I would replace the oil and keep an eye on it.. if you have access to a scan tool, make sure its not running rich.

how much coolant? usually if a head gasket is going, gas wont make it into the oil

Well maybe about half gallon in a month. That the last time I can actually remember checking it. And I usually check everything. I'm a logger so I'm used to checking all my fluids in the wee morning time lol

if you've lost that much i would probably start with a coolant pressure test to see if you can spot any leaks or anything obvious..
