Howdy to all my new Tundra homies! First time Tundra owner here and I've got a couple questions. I've searched and can't find what I'm looking for,so I'm hoping someone can enlighten me. I bought 2 ton shackles for the front recovery points and I also got 4 ton shackles but the 3/4 inch bolt won't fit. Will the 2T be adequate for recovery? And if I grind out the bracket enough to allow the 3/4 bolt of the 4T will that compromise the strength of the bracket?
Thanks to any and all that can help me out.

Read the shackles strength on the shackle itself. Only you can determine how much something weighs on site before using the proper shackles/technique.

I would not remove any of your recover point metal.

Thanks guys! I ordered a clevis slip hook off eBay. We'll see how that works. Thanks Chris!

I am bringing this tread from the dead, but did you ever solve this, and do you have any photos of the final result?

So I just noticed this on my 2006 Toyota Tundra SR5. There are no recovery hooks or anything in the front. I see two holes in the frame but that is it. Should I add two D-Ring shackles like the ones pictured or is there anything different I should add? Bumper has no knock out access points either.

That is not for recovery. That is for tie down on a flat bed. I take it that’s not your picture but what’s depicted is incorrect and dangerous.

No that is a picture I pulled from Google. The holes I am referring to are actually in the frame itself and not bolt on additions. I am just wondering if a D-Ring put thru the hole in the frame would work?
