Does anyone know if the painted bumper caps sit on-top of regular chrome bumper caps, or are they their own thing bolted onto the bumper? I tried looking, but cannot tell without taking things apart.

Asking because I have a Nightshade Tundra with painted bumper caps on the front and rear. Wondering if the "painted" caps are just a 3M on-top of chrome.

There is no chrome under your painted end caps. The chrome is a metal cap that is a different part then the colour matched cap.
