Hey all, I just joined the forum and recently bought a new 2024 Tundra.
    I have a question :
I was looking around my engine bay and noticed a set of louvers directly behind the grill that has a central bar that runs vertically. Can anyone enlighten me on what this is. I was wondering if it might be some type of shutter that can be closed during very cold temperatures to help the engine stay warmer. Sort of like when people would put pieces of cardboard over their grills in the winter.?‍♂️ I did some searching in the internet but nothing came up.
    Thanks
    Mike

Active shutter system, yes. I think they close below 40°? Of course it's all computer controlled but that's what they are for. I remember reading about it somewhere, owners manual maybe?
Maybe this is where I read it...

Thanks! I’ll have to look in my manual.

This got me wondering so I had to look into it a little more. Looks like for aerodynamics as well. Supposedly they close at speeds over 60mph to help divert wind, unless engine needs more cooling.
I looked & didn't see it in manual.

That is the active SPOILER, not the grille shutters.
