Front end vibrates at low veh speed. Click in 4x4 and it definitely changes. Click it out or it does come back. It feels like a buzz in the steering wheel. Drive it 25-35 you can really feel it. Drive it 40 and it’s smooth. Diff oil is clean, wheel bearings tight. Driveline is not dented, weights still attached. 4x4 operations seems correct. Everything locks and unlocks properly. I’m at a loss. I’m wondering about an old tsb for carrier bearings? Also I’ll try to post a vid of the drivers side half shaft at the diff. Not sure if this amount of play is normal. Anyone got any ideas?

Search for front diff needle bearing issues. Definitely sounds like that’s the issue. If you don’t have a warranty, look up the ECGS bushing as a replacement.

I have 6k left on the warranty. It’s a 2021. My 2019 went 150k without a single problem. Thanks for the tip. I’ll look into it.

I did the bushing update today and it worked like a champ! Don’t miss the noise and vibration. I think I’m going to send the needle bearing to the Toyota dealer to use as a paper weight and thank them for there wonderful service. So much for warranty. I’m glad I don’t have to fight them for a new engine. Thanks guys for the help!

I had to do the same thing. The idiots at the dealership kept denying there was an issue. I got tired of the $180 diagnosis fee to hear there was nothing wrong.

I installed the ECGS and it solved the problem. I kept the needle bearing as a reminder that warranty work is a total joke, at least at Fred Haas Toyota.
