    Hello all, first post here.

    I am trying to track down a part number for the front frame crossmember, actually the rear front (behind the motor/diff). Maybe a frame breakdown with part #'s. Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.

    I have been searching online and the diagrams/pictures I have found are a little confusing.

    Any information or help is greatly appreciated.

    Sounds like you want to revert out of a bracket lift.

    Thanks, I was thinking it was #3 but wanted to make sure.

    You're right, I am trying to remove the bracket lift that's currently on the truck. Right now I'm just trying to decide if it's worth it. Unfortunately I did not know there was so much involved when i bought the truck, should have done some research beforehand. And of course I do not have the crossmember section that was cut out.

    Just out of curiosity do you think it's worthwhile to pursue something like this? I've got estimates from a couple local shops to do the fab work, and it's not terribly expensive. I'm just concerned about the longevity of the repair, especially with off road use. If I do go through with this we plan on keeping the truck in the family for a very long time so I'm not too worried about resale,etc.

    Is it worth it? Sounds like you’ve found a good deal cuz I’m in the process of doing mine myself right now but I have a cut out from another truck. The driver side is accessible to get a welder in but the passenger side not so much.

    It also depends on how hard the previous owner wheeled the truck. I went pretty hard and I see stress fractures on what’s left of the crossmember.

    So if the shop knows what they’re getting into I say go for it.

    I honestly don't think the truck has ever been off road, it only had 9k miles when i bought it. Do you think it's better to just weld back in the cut section or try and replace the whole thing?

    I think it would be easier to weld the cut section back. Better would be replacing the crossmember as you intended.

    Hello all! I am also new here! I’m throwing around the same idea of bringing mine back down to stock or near stock maybe leveled. I bought the truck with a 6” pro comp lift on it, and do not have access to OEM suspension parts or the missing section of the cross member. I’m curious on how much y’all were quoted on bringing it back down with the re-weld and parts necessary to complete the job.

    Secondly, I’m told the Dealership installed the lift, and I’m wondering just how much of your crossmember was cut? Seems that im only missing about a 6-8” section right where the driveshaft comes down.

    It’s part #3 from the previous post. Once you have that part in hand it’s pretty easy to measure and cut to size. I welded mine on myself and it was pretty tricky for a rookie like me.

    The hardest part was welding the top side of the crossmember, which is below the engine. I couldn’t get the welder in there to weld from the top so I ended up cutting out a hole from the bottom section and welded the top from underneath. I then welded the piece I cut out back on. Clear as mud? :yes:

    Aside from your welding. What was your total cost? And are you glad overall that you did it? Did it improve fuel economy and ride quality? Thanks so much for your reply!

    Well, I bought a second Tundra and cut the crossmember from that so total cost was $25k :rofl:
    The crewmax is back to full stock so fuel and ride is exactly what it used to be, which is a lot better than 8mpg. Am I glad? Sure, cuz the aim is to sell the CM.
