I bought a 2006 DC 2wd. Really like it but found that after driving around a bit the front brakes would start applying resistance as in major rubbing. To the point of the truck would drag to a stop without any pressure applied to the pedal. Turned over to Toyota repair and after a couple weeks, front brakes replaced, master cylinder replaced and I think booster replaced; I got it back. Well less than 200 miles later its starting to happen again. I noticed that once the brakes start this up then there is very little pedal travel and its very touchy.

    any thoughts? thanks

    calipers replaced?
Fluid level to high in rez can create a reverse action and activate brakes once fluid heats up

I would bring it back and complain. They've replaced just about everything (I assume when you say front brakes you mean the calipers as well?) except the ABS module (if you have it).

Maybe one of the replacement items is a faulty part like the caliper?

And the lines, but I doubt that's the problem, and agree on it's interesting it happens after a period of driving, as if fluid heat buildup is related.

I also agree on taking it back, if it's still happening, you just threw a bunch of parts and money at something that didn't fix the prob.

I'd also recommend to double-confirm if that booster was really replaced, look at the work order to verify.

Agreed. OP, you didn't mention the word calipers.

So it appears the booster was not replaced. In discussion now that is the next step. I will update...

Could be an incorrectly adjusted booster/pedal.

This would be because the piston is somewhat blocking the reservoir port. If it's not fully unblocked/disengaged it could prevent fluid from fully returning to the reservoir over multiple brake applications, which leads to the fronts dragging then eventually locking up.

This is essentially what I was thinking, and why I pushed about the booster up there. Great minds think alike ;)

well I've had it back now for a couple weeks and all sees well with the brakes. All those that said brake booster...... you were correct. now to chase down a vibration coming through as I am in motion.

Looks like me and @assassin10000 win on this one.

What speeds are the vibrations coming through at, and what condition (stopping, accellerating, turning, etc) causes it?

Also, I see your truck is 2WD, can you tell us whether it's lifted or not, and if so, more details on that lift and whether you made any driveline adjustments after?

not lifted. difficult to explain but its like if you had a circle but only part of the surface was rough. thats how it is driving, not a continuous vib but a continuous cycle of the vib. speed doesn't seem to effect the timing of the vib, just the intensity. seems more pronounced when slower speed.

Is it like a faint rhythmic "wuhb wuhb wuhb" that you only hear but don't necessarily feel? Typically only comes on after 35-40mph? Like you said, wheel speed doesn't affect the rhythmic "wuh wuh wuhb"?

Ok so i just drove it on smooth road. Vib is there but slower speed not bad. Do about 35 to 60 its there for sure. Its a felt vib for sure. Not ever too strong/dangerous but there
