I was told my front CV Boots are starting to leak and I’ll need to replace the front axle for around 13-1400. I was already considering modifying the suspension. Suggestions or ideas if I’m already doing work there? I don’t want or need some big lift, but I like the idea of a 2-3” in the front. Thanks!

$1300 seems wildly expensive to replace a CV Axle. As far as a lift goes, that will be driven by your budget. Shop around at SDHQ.com, they have quite a few options for our truck. And welcome to the forum as well!

If it’s just the cv boots, you can get a CV rebuild kit with new boots, grease, and clamps, for a little over $100. I would suggest having them rebuilt rather than replacing the axles/half shalfts/cv axles unless you go with a Toyota genuine part. The factory parts are robust and overbuilt. Aftermarket parts can be hit or miss, IME.

For the rebuild, you still need to remove them from the vehicle making it somewhat labor intensive if you take it to a shop. 1300 sounds a little steep, but that depends on where you, I guess.
