I recently installed a HC front bumper on my ‘23 Tundra. This required removing the active spoiler assembly and motor. To prevent the dash warning message, I ordered a CBI delete module for the motor connector. Simple, easy fix, right?

Fast forward to today, and I still can’t get the warning message to go away with the delete module, and even when I plug the motor assembly back in the message remains. It’s driving me crazy! Checked all the wire connections to the grille/motor assembly and everything’s plugged in.

I did have a Toyota service appt at the dealer prior to the CBI module arriving, wonder if they may have done something to try to “fix” it? Is there a fuse for this that may have been removed?

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what was your solution?

    TIA!

Sorry your having problems. I wish Toyota would have just bolted it on like the Tacoma. until someone with hopefully a solution answers , have you considered having a Toyota tech use their scan tool to see if he/she can clear the error code. Of course that would probably only be the first step in the process.

I have another service interval appointment later this week, I can certainly ask them if there’s anything they can do to clear the code. Love the truck but hate the dash message constantly popping up

May need to clear the trouble code from the ECU with a scan tool?

Thanks Mike, I’ll ask them to do it tomorrow am and see if it stays away.

Update - The Toyota Dealer came back saying there wasn't anything they could do about it since the motor assembly was removed. So I went investigating some more myself.

Found that the 20A fuse for the front active spoiler was blown. I had checked it early on when experiencing this issue and it was fine then. But the whole top of the fuse was also marked with red sharpie, unlike the others.

So maybe someone tried to "fix" it along the way by blowing the fuse but it didn't work. I replaced the fuse and we're good to go without a dash warning now
