I own a Tundra TRD pro 2020 4x4 CrewMax. The truck is equipped with TSS.

I am investigating options for a bull bar/front bumper replacement that would provide front-end protection and allow me to install a winch. I'd like to find something that won't interfere with the TSS front-mounted radar.

    Anyone have experience with this?

Search function is your friend. C4 Fabrications makes a couple bumpers with hoops that will clear the TSS as long as you have the Pro grill that lowers the sensor below the midpoint of the grille. So, unless you've changed your grille your truck should have no issue. Don't forget to upgrade your springs to account for the added weight of the bumper and winch.

Check out Southern Style Offroad. Not sure how much protection you're looking for, but this is definitely a worthy choice on front end aftermarket bumpers

Looks good but might interfere with the Pro grille TSS location.

After seeing how little snow it takes for the TSS radar to be rendered useless I’m considering removing it altogether...

Pretty sure it's a known thing that it won't function in bad weather. Might even be in the manual. Heavy rain can mess with it. In those types of conditions they recommend no cruise control anyway, so you aren't losing anything there, but the crash avoidance is blind so it just shuts down.

I’ve got a SSO Slimline front bumper with the bull bar and am having it installed on my 2020 SR5 with a TRD Pro grill next Monday. I will report back on any conflict with the TSS front features and photos once I get it installed.

I put this on in Oct 2018 and haven’t had any issues from the bumper other then the normal snow, rain , heavy fog.
Btw, if you go with the hoop bumper “bull bar” they cause more damage then protection when it they are impacted.

I will definitely let you know. I'm dropping the truck off Monday and should have it back by Wednesday.

I had to wait almost 4 months as well. Definitely not fast. But hopefully the end result will be worth it.

I got the truck back today and am happy to report that there are no issues with the SSO Slimline Hybrid Bumper w/bull bar and TSS. The bull bar sits below the TSS sensor on the TRD Pro grille. The sensors on the non-TRD Pro grille sits even higher.

Looking at a fab fours matrix bumper with pre runner bar, which directly blocks the sensor, i will relocate but since i have a 2021 tundra TRD pro it is already mounted low on the grill. Moving it up won't work, so though about mounting it externally just above the bumper so it sees under the bar. Anyone think this spot will be sturdy enough too flimsy? open to suggestions. thanks, B
