Well I got my last free oil change from Toyota under the 2/24 program. Got them to do 20k change at 15 miles due to the time. They normally got $115 plus tax so free was good!

Free isn't necessarily a good thing - especially when it comes to a 15 dollar an hr guy changing your 50k truck oil.

My OCD would never allow this. Hopefully they did a good job.

Have you gotten under your truck and checked all the bolts for proper torque? Or that they're all there?

dollars to donuts one of the front three Phillips screws holding on the skid plate is gone and things are way too tight or way too loose.

I was talking about the estimated cost of your Tundra when I referred to 50k.

Not sure what you expected people to say? Obviously a lot of us don't trust anyone else to get things perfect with this task.

If your dealership pays above minimum wage for the oil guy and you are happy you got it free, then we are obviously very happy for you.

Yeah he probably torqued your filter housing to 250 ft-lbs with his impact gun…

I’ll play devil’s advocate, dealership up here did my sensor gasket recall bs and gave me my last and only oil change (did everything myself til that point), I bit. I spent ten minutes in the parking lot under the hood and truck double checking fluid levels, bolts, housing not cracked, crush washer in place, etc anyways before I left which was dumb. They actually did a good job though and I didnt need a ten foot breaker bar to get the filter housing off at the next change. Its the exception instead of the rule though.
Have never had anyone change my oil except me before and never will again though. Control issues.

They definitely tightened the plastic oil filter housing until it cracked, backed it off a quarter turn and called it good

Wow. Just was saying I got in an extra oil change. As I do some side work at the dealer I can say there is NO $15 doolar guy assigned oil changes, at least where I go. In the end I am happy.

Check the skid plate bolts, they always get cross threaded.
