Installed TC UCAs and Fox 2.5 res this week. Ended up with 4+ lift. There's 1/2" of threads at the top so I'll adjust them and hope to get down to 3". I've read they ride high but seems excessive.

Next thing is one shock is not lined up correctly. The bottom of the shock is turned so it's very difficult to get the spacers and shock into the LCA mount. When in it slightly makes contact with the mount and seems to max out the eyelet one way. How would I rotate this? Or is it a disabled/assemble project.

Also one of the res hose fittings on the shock side looks to need adjustment. Its causing the hose to touch the UCA. Can I barely crack it loose and turn it without making a big mess.

I had to pull the shocks since the allen on the adjuster so I could take the one to a shop. Just really rather do the work. Any advice is welcomed

Post up some photos. I hope by spacer, you don’t mean you have a spacer mounted on top of your fox coilover

No I'm talking about the bottom of the shock where the through bolt is on the LCA. I can barely get those spacers in because the bottomed of the shock is slightly turned and touches the LCA mount once in.

The bottom is rotated. When top mount bolts are in the bottom of the shock (circled) almost won't go into the the LCA mount. If i line up the bottom first then the top mounting holes do not line up. I tried to turn it a little but didn't want to force it.

For the lineup issue, just rotate it using a screwdriver. Take preload off shock.

Might as well remove the shock that you loosened the remote reservoir hose. If you got oil out, most likely pissed out some N2. Depending on how much oil came out, you will need to put more in and re-charge the shock.

I haven't messed with the fitting yet. Is possible to loosen just enough to turn and not lose oil/N2?

That shaft is able to rotate but like TJ said the preload is probably making it seem as it wont. Bolt the top and put a screwdriver thru the hole and turn it.
You should be ok with the resi hose - you can loosen it and turn it without issues but its tricky. Too much and you lose oil. But there should be no reason that you would have issues with the resi hose hitting anything. Pics would help

If these are the 2.5 3" lift ones the N2 is under 200 PSI. If you loosen that fitting you will loose some oil and N2. Also these are supposed to be at 3" from the factory. You may need to let is settle a bit before making any adjustments. If you do need to adjust 2 turns = about 1/4 inch. From the factory there are about 6 threads showing above the preload adjuster. If you have more than that then someone moved it.

I'll get a picture once I get the shocks back on and adjusted. Is it normal to need to adjust the per-load ring all the way up just to get the height down to 3". I know an alignment will help as well but just wondering how much the shocks will settle?

    Thanks for all the help.

Ok this helps. These are the 3" lift and there are 8 threads (1/2") showing.

Ha yeah I know. My jeep shock lengths are well under what fox claims. They must have a guy over there just eyeballing numbers. About as accurate as the weather man.

Do you have the shocks with just the preload ring and no backup ring? Fox changed to just the preload ring at some point. Mine has just the preload and the pinch collar. If you don't have the new type with the pinch collar your thread count may be different.

Either way let us know how it turns out.

Just the 1 ring. I'm going to have to take as much preload off as possible and re-adjust once they settle. I don't want to drive around with 4"+ up front.

Did you adjust the preload to roughly 6 threads like @lamikela1 recommended? And did you remount them and adjust the bottom with a screwdriver? I plan on getting these so I'm all over this thread

One thing to those installing for the first time. The bolt head for the allen on the adjuster ring was on the back side for me so I had to take the shock off to loosen that. If yours is the same then make sure to loosen before install. Once shock is installed and at full droop rotate the ring and get the bolt head to the front. I would back it off one half turn or least amount needed to get it to the front then tighten. Now if you need to adjust you won't need to uninstall the shock.

Took off preload load this weekend. Maxed out the passenger side and left 4 thread's on the driver. I'm at 3.75" on the pass and 3.5" driver. Also put deaver U748s and TC shackles on the back. That ended up w 3+" inches over stock. I must have the lightest tundra ever made. Why is it's so high?

I will be doing mine weekend after next. I will let you know if my lift is more than 3 inches. If so I have a feeling that it will settle some over time. I would rather it be a bit more lift than less. I'll be doing 35x12.5x20,s on mine.

Decided not to mess with the fitting and risk losing N2/oil. Just my luck, turns out that fitting was loose. My fault for not double checking. I checked the fittings and completely for got to check this shock. Got it back from alignment and it has a drip. Do I need to add oil? Probably lost 1/2 oz or less. Could I just add nitrogen? Can anyone recommend a shop close to Costa mesa or Yorba linda? I'm in a time crunch.

motod6, try sending an email to Fox support. They usually respond pretty quick and can tell you what you need to do. Also I did read somewhere that the N2 charge should not be more or less than 200 PSI. Fox also states that changing the pressure will not significantly change the shock characteristics.

You should be fine. The N2 pressure doesn't affect the ride directly. It prevents cavitation in the oil which in turn prevents shock fade. Tighten up the fitting and charge the shock 150psi to 200psi and you should be fine.
