Fox 2.5 Coilovers 2" lift issue

    I had a local offroad shop order Fox 2.5 Coilovers (non res) with the preset 2" lift to level my 2018 SR5. I had the Bilstein Trail tuned shocks that came with the TRD Off road package on both the front and rear. I was told by my local shop and some others that these Fox coilovers will definitely level the truck, so I went ahead and moved forward with these. Seemed pretty simple...

    My local shop installed them from Fox as is ... they requested the preset 2" lift when they ordered the coilovers. When I go to pick up the truck yesterday, there is a noticeable slight bro lean (tilted backwards) about 1" higher upfront, however the local shop said the lift should mellow out a little. I was a little skeptical so I took the truck up to a family member who works in the service department at a local Toyota dealership. Everyone at the dealership said that the lift looks to be 3" and not 2". They also pointed out that the truck also leans 1" lower on the driver side of the vehicle.

    Called my local offroad shop and they said they'd certainly help me fix the issue, but I want to do it right this time and I'm not sure if they actually did this right or not. any ideas / feedback from you all would be helpful. I know I could just install rear shackles or add a leaf, but that would cost more money I wasn't planning on spending. Alternatively the shop could take off the front suspension and retune the lift to level...

    Does this picture look like a 2" lift?
    the brolean isnt as pronounced in this picture cause of the slope I parked at, but you can tell the difference in height between the front tire and front wheel well is much higher than the back tire and the back wheel well ( about ~1" higher upfront that I measured).

    Same, mine came set at 4”. Need to lower them, I have written down how much does what, but I’m not home right now.

    oh wow. no rush. send over those measurements when you have time. I'm hopefully going to get it fixed next week

    I thought the Fox 2.5 Coilovers (non res) could only be 0" - 3"

    Not sure how easy Fox's are to adjust but looks easily adjustable with a spanner wrench. You could probably do it yourself. Whoever does it, make sure they add some preload to the driver's side to adjust for the lean.

    Depending on the spring rate it should settle some after a couple 1K miles.
    Really should own a spanner wrench with a set up like that tho'.

    I have a spanner wrench, but my understanding is that the coilovers need to be removed from the vehicle in order to be adjusted. I dont have the equip to do that myself. plus I'd have to realigned too.

    The shop told me that when they order from their supplier they tell them the amount of lift they want and the supplier makes those adjustments before they deliver the Fox Coilovers.

    My shop thinks you have to remove the coilovers to adjust so they obviously dont want to keep taking the coilovers off and on to make sure it's level. I'll let them know what you said. I can't believe they didn't know you could adjust without taking the coilovers off. They also said they highly discourage setting the a passenger side height vs the driver side...sounded like they wouldn't even do this for me and that they're just going to do the same height both sides. sounds crazy to me that they wont do this even though the driver side is a full 1" lower than the passenger side. is there a way set them to 2.5", like a marker of somekind, without having to take the coilovers off?

    These guys dont do a ton of Tundras. it's mostly a Jeep rock crawler shop, but they have done Tundras...so idk.

    Here are my measurements and adjustment. All with stock wheels and tires.

    Stock - driver 36 5/8” pass 37”
    Before adjusting - driver 40 5/8” pass 40 7/8”
    Adjusted - driver 39 1/4” pass 39 5/8”
    Threads showing - driver 1 1/2” pass 1 3/8”

    Basically it comes down to one turn lowers the adjuster 1 thread or 1/16”, and that translates to about 1/8” in height. I preserved the factory lean on my driver side, so mine required 2 turns more pre load driver side. When Fox was reviewing my springs, pre load etc.(everything checked out), they laughed at me and said it won’t settle, and it hasn’t. Mine could not be run at 2”, if I take 2 more turns out of the passenger side the coil is free at full droop.

    They come from Fox pre set, and are always way off. No big deal they are adjustable is how it goes. Yes, they are supposed to be removed to adjust, the adjustment collar design changed to a single split ring and it’s not safe to adjust under load. I do adjust mine on the truck, but requires spring compressors and patience. Super easy to screw them up.

    Is anybody using a .250” shim for the lean correction on the coil overs opposed to preload in the spring ?
