I finally got my Fox 2.5 coilovers with reservoirs and SPC upper control arms after waiting several months. As I get ready to install them I have seen some members have had issues with the brake caliper bolt rubbing on the coil. If this is the case, is the fix difficult or would it be easier to return them?

Lastly, has anyone had issues with their tires, 33's, rubbing on the reservoir?

My plan is to have about a 2.5 lift on the coilovers and purchase some wheel spacers if necessary.

@Darkness changed the brake fitting to a banjo so it would clear. I remember him or someone else mentioning that fox has fixed that issue and you should be fine.

@Darkness said the issue was fixed when I brought up those shocks a while back.

Post a picture of them. If the lower coil mount is almost flat, so that the coil sits really low, thats the old version and you'll need to contact Fox for the corrective perch. If the perch picks the coil up about 1/2" or so, that's the updated and you probably don't need to mess with the brake lines. I did the banjo bolt mod on my lines, I don't really recommend it. Its hard to remove the texture from the caliper to make the banjo washer seal right.

The reservoir hose is pretty touchy. It depends on a lot of things. If your wheels have backspace that pushes them out far and you don't have really wide tires, you might get away without rubbing. Fix did put them in a stupid spot though, you have to mess with them to try and tuck them under the frame if possible or push them up high if you have the slack. The reservoir hose as they designed it is right in the path of the tire if you turn the wheel and compress the shock.

I don't mean to turn you off. Just stuff to watch closely and be prepared to make alterations to them. If your lower perches are the old style contact Fox by email. I can get you the part number for the updated perch.

Im pretty sure its the updated design but I will keep an eye out for the reservoir location as I feel that could be a problem.

Thank you everyone for their replies.

This is the older style, not the best pictures. On the 2nd pic you can see how low the perch sits and it is right in line with the brake line coming out of the caliper. The newer style lifts a bit higher up to clear the line.

I modified my hoses by shortening them and putting 90 fittings on. I relocated my cans the be right at the top of the fender. In order to do that the inner plastics had to be removed as well as the washer reservoir.
