This is a build thread for @fours 2017 SR5 (Blazing Blue Pearl) Build

There are many like it, but this one is mine ;-)

I'll try to keep to photos up top for the latest/before and add mods by number in the thread. This is more me remembering what I did over the years, because this build won't be happening over night... these Tundra parts aren't cheap!

GOAL: Pull a 22'-25' Airstream across the good ole USA!!! (through the mountains with hopefully the internal OEM brake controller!)

    WANTED MODs:

    - On Board Air ( ... which works great on tires for $35) . I've seen a few threads on mounts for the engine compartment, but still need to study more for what we'll need...

    - Tinted front windows (obvious) Ceramic?

    - Stereo Head Unit
    - I like the Tesla head units!
    - I want satellite NAV (non-cell) but only have OEM Entune Plus (not Premium)
    - I like the premium head units for NAV, but the map card updates might hinder my favor for this decision.

    - HAM RADIO (KD0LAS)
    - I want 2m/440 in the cab, maybe 6m if I'm feeling frisky
    - All of the above plus USB/LSB in the Airstream... I'd think some antennae might work well on top of the Airstream!?

    - BICYCLE CARGO
    - Still thinking about a topper or not. But we love to cyclocross with our 40-50 year old selfs ;-)

    (Work In Progress)

    Upgrade #6: Ham Radio

    Current Option (lol):

I started this thread to see what I'm up against, and there are some badass ideas: https://www.tundras.com/threads/tundra-ham-radio.57715

Here's my old Subaru Forester install of a Yaesu dual band head unit... which I sold to my twin brother with the radio :(

All I'm currently running now is my Yaesu FT-60... I feel so naked with just a hand held!

Homebrew Goal for this build maybe!?:

https://www.phoenixautomotiveinc.com/ head unit running Android. Therefore, making it possible to download (or hack/program) custom Ham Radio apps. Run transmissions via OEM bluetooth mic... with push button on steering wheel? Mount 2m antenna on passenger side, above wheel wale, horizontally (in case of tonneau cover installation... or any other topper... for covertness!!!).
