Don’t worry not jumping ship, but if there’s one thing the raptors are proving is that mid-travel suspension is fun and very capable and is so much cheaper than long travel. Although can’t compete with long travel, what most ford raptors are doing on YouTube are all stock(mid-travel). I need to complete my mid travel setup then go slay some raptors :curls:

Is it weird that your truck gives people a hard on?

I dig the new raptor, I'm on a waitlist at one of the dealers in town for an allocation. They're cool trucks but for the same money you could probably have a new supercharged tundra with mid travel.

The raptor is a nice looking truck, but the junky EcoBoost v6 is what killed it. My boss had a 14 f150 EcoBoost as soon was it hit 100k he had turbo and computer problems, multiple trips to dealer and shutting off on him to many times he traded it for a 2018 Limited Tundra, after he rode in mine a few times. Also with the 75k price tag for a v6 is way over rate.

Back in 2010, Raptor was roughly in the same price range as Tundra. I considered it, then I went with Tundra. Just couldn't do a Ford.

Now they have no choice on engine (I hate EcoBoost), I would not even consider it.

I would never buy one at those prices. I would rather build my truck than buy it. My truck now built cost less and with better components.

    But they still look cool.

Raptors would definitely be fun. But I'm not buying one until I'm rich enough to buy two. Then I'm going to have my chauffeur follow me around the desert in the backup and when mine breaks down, I'm going to swap. And I'll probably have my butler follow my chauffeur in the Tundra to give the chauffeur a ride home.

I honestly like raptors but would never think of getting one mainly because of their engine/computer/ford problems AND not to mention, you can easily get a truck and mod it out to run circles around the raptor for cheaper than the msrp on these things!

They need to put a supercharged or turbo 5.0 in it. I don’t understand why manufactures go from a nice strong V-8 to a turbocharged four-cylinder or V6. Why not put a turbo on a V-8? It could increase your gas mileage if you keep your foot out of it and you to have the low end torque of the v8. They offer a V-8 in the sports car but don’t offer it in their most bad ass truck they make? Doesn’t make sense to me.

we have 2 6.2 raptors in the family. both have some nice mods (icon 3.0, upper arms, tune, lights ect...). they are a blast to drive and ride nice but they arent without their issues. my PRO rides nice, is capable and is much quieter and without any computer/mechanical issue

Not saying our trucks are beat on but they definitely get used so I don't think are the sought after ones people are looking for. But yes the 6.2s skyrocketed when the 3.5 was announced.
The new raptor is definitely a very capable truck and much more advanced than the 6.2 raptor but I just couldn't bring myself to drive a v6 truck. Plus I don't have that kind of coin laying around to drop on one.
This is my first Toyota coming from a life long ford line and I can say that I am more that satisfied with my PROs performance.
