Footwell light....anyone put a switch on theirs?

So on the 2020, the footwell light stays on the entire time that the door is open. I am getting ready to put the Vleds footwell kit in. I don't want them on all the time. Has anyone put a switch on theirs? I'm not suprised that Toyota didn't set it up to turn off with interior light switch.

 

I would also like an answer on this. With some wiring diaramas a la Ralph Wiggum

 

I was thinking the same thing when I was about to install mine, then realized that the foot well light will eventually time out and shut off with the doors still open. Not sure if the 20 is different, but my 19 will shut of In about 5-10 minutes if I remember correctly. Not sure if this helps or not with your switch question, but thought I'd mention what I found
