I just learned this and maybe I'm late to the game but if you turn on your running lights and have your fog light on, your fog lights become your daytime running lights.

Not exciting enough for you? Too bad!
I have upgraded from a 2006 limited to a 2022 Platinum so all of this is exciting to me!

Also the fog light do stay on as running lights when driving if you have the fog lights on and the stalk in the running lights setting.

Enjoy the platinum! It's a superb truck (once you get any kinks you may have worked out). Ignore the trolls, these guys incessantly keep popping up in every 2022 thread. They never have anything positive to say and just try to ruffle feathers. Unfortunately, the old adage of "if you ignore them, they'll go away" doesn't seem to apply.

I guess on your 2006 you couldn't turn on your fogs without the headlights activated like my 2017? That makes sense then now for some added DRL. I can also do this on my Tacoma

Hope you keep enjoying the new updated truck  as I'm sure it's very different from the old

Yes this is a new feature for me! Never heard of it before. Only reason that I brought it up was because I stumbled upon it while parked in front of a store front window and was curious about how my daytime running lights looked if I manually switched on the running lights and to my surprise the fogs came on. I mean it's kinda silly but also neat. This new truck is indeed a very different animal from my 06 for sure!

My F150 does the same thing when you set the switch to running light mode. The fogs function like normal. I used to do this when I was towing during the day to keep the trailer lights on and use the fogs as "DRL's", but then I found out I could set the fogs to be the actual DRL's using Forscan so they are just always on now. I've also used it in really bed snow storms/white outs where the head lights, even on low, were reflecting back off the snow in the air and making visibility worse.

My Lexus GX wont let me do this though. Fogs only come on if the headlights are which is annoying because I bought a really nice set of Diode Dynamics SS3 pods in yellow that would be awesome in a snow storm.

    Its really nice to have.
