    Hi Guys.

I am trying to wire some fog lights into my 2008 tundra sr5. It was prewired for the fog lights so I hooked the lights to the factory wiring. I installed the relay in the correct location and the fuse was already there. I have the switch installed but there is no light blue wire coming out of pin #4 where you are supposed to connect. It is a blank pin. Can someone help explain how to connect this switch?

I have attached a picture of my wiring. upload_2022-3-8_9-45-33.jpg

    Thank you!
    Mike

Seems to me when you switch the fog lights on the pink wire going into the ECU from the switch is grounded. That inturn tells the ECU to ground the blue #4 pin wire you are missing.
This blue wire is the ground to "charge" the realy. When charged the relay closes and the foglights come on.

I would think you could add the blue wire from the Body control module to the Relay. Seems without it the relay wont operate properly

Thanks Jeff. I’m pretty much an idiot when it comes to wiring like this. Do you think I could add a wire coming from pin#4 and tap into it for the switch? Or do you think the relay isn’t even wired (grounded) to that pin? Maybe ordering the wiring kit and running new wiring would be easier. Thanks for the help.

The blue wire connects the ground side of the relay to the ECU, in doing so it also connects the ground side of the relay to the switch through the ECU.

Currently you just have an "open" ground on the fog light relay. If you add a wire to blue pin#4 the other side needs to go to the ground leg of the relay. Then everything will work like factory.

You could quickly get a jumper wire, hook it to the ground side of the relay, and when you connect wire to the negative battery the fog lights should come on.

I followed the connections based on the picture you provided and it didn’t work. I have a 2011 base model and bought an aftermarket fog lights. I’m to the point being totally frustrated, I need help badly.
