I've got a 23 Platinum and noticed the trim piece that wraps the armrest on the inside of the driver door must have a broken clip or two, as it's not attaching flush to the door panel. A few questions:
    1) What's the proper way to remove the piece? I assume if you pull the window switches module out, then it could just pop out with clips? Can't find anyone on Youtube removing this part.
    2) If the clip(s) are broken, does anyone know the Toyota PN for replacements?

Trim piece in question in photo (not my truck- but good enough).

    Thanks!

Looks like that is part of the door card.

So I'd need to order the entire thing? I don't see a number associated to the trim piece on that drawing. Thanks!

Yeppers. Unfortunately the site I use says call dealer for the part number.

Door panels are usually only sold as a whole part.
If you remove the door panel you may find plastic 'welds' holding it together.

Have you removed the door panel?

Not yet- was thinking maybe the silver trim piece would come off without needing to pull the whole door panel off. Watched a few videos on it, doesn't look too difficult. May experiment with it this weekend. thanks

That might be the other option is to plastic weld, but on a door card, that would make me nervous.

it does appear they’re held on with clips. In the third pic you can barely see a piece of loose plastic remaining in the door. I think that’s where my trim piece / clip broke. My truck came with the two rear door silver trims having the rearward clips broken so they occasionally pop out. I’m able to pry the other clip out by pulling on the trim piece, so you could probably use a plastic trim tool to pop it out… I was planning on having mine replaced under warranty sometime before my warranty expires since it doesn’t bother me much at all.

This is excellent news... mine is under warranty too and it doesn't bother me all that much, just something I want to address eventually. So there's gotta be a P/N for the silver piece (which is what we'd both need replaced, since it looks like that's the part that is broken). Thanks!

Same thing happened to my drivers door very early like within a few months after purchase. Asked dealer to replace it and they almost committed to it until they went back to the computer to see what it took, and found it would take the whole panel.
They did not replace and I did push back but lost interest. I don’t notice it anymore.

my silver plastic seemed almost too big which made it pull away from clip

the dealer has been excellent by the way so not knocking them

Good to know. I’ll ask my dealer about it. If it’s too much of a hassle or they don’t want to do it, I’d be fine either double sticky taping it or maybe finding a clip that works. Just got a 3D printer so maybe I’ll try n make my own.

For anyone else dealing with this, I applied a small amount of this loctite plastic glue and clamped it overnight. Worked great. And if for any reason need to remove the trim piece, could run a utility blade under it to break the glue.

Going to try this. Thanks for suggestion. Always seemed like the silver part was a bit too large to clip correctly. Glue will prob do trick.

It was $4 at Lowe's- figure worth a shot at that price and I think it will hold. When applying the glue behind the top edge of the trim piece, be careful not to use too much or it will run out the bottom.

I only notice when cleaning the door and when this website emails me that there’s a comment lol
