Joining the Tundra family in a few short weeks with the arrival of my 2024 TRD Pro.

First time truck owner and have a couple questions that might make me a rookie (so apologize in advance), but very excited to be joining the group.

    1. I like the look of the Predator Steps a lot and was pretty set on adding these immediately at the dealer (truck is not arriving with any PIO for steps/running boards). It just occurred to me though that predator steps might reduce offroading clearance...is that true? and if so, by how much?

I don't expect to be doing anything too wild in the short term, so not fully set on investing a crazy amount in drill-on sliders, but I could be convinced otherwise.

    2. This is probably super elementary, but am I thinking about it correctly that replacing the stock tires with 35's would increase my ground clearance by 2"?

Love the look of 35's anyway, but hoping to add as much clearance as possible without actually lifting the truck.

Thanks in advance and apologize again for the newbie questions.

Welcome aboard! The predator steps will slightly decrease clearance between the ground and the cab, but surely won’t hang below the level of the frame. So it will reduce clearance in some scenarios. If you plan on doing some rock crawling or advanced trails with your brand new truck, then the steps may come into play. Sliders are the way in that scenario. The tires that come with the truck are around 32.5” or so. From hub to ground is half that, so 16.25”. Going up to a 35” tire changes that to about 17.5” from hub to ground, effectively increasing your ground clearance by 1.25”.
