    Hello fellow first gen owners. Figured I’d share this deal from rock auto. There was a thread recently talking about Chinese/aftermarket upper control arms for our trucks. The cost of the ebay/Chinese control arms ranging between $300-$400. Well, I did the numbers on the mevotech/spc arms with the discount code applied, shipping and tax (Texas) to my door. The price comes out to $442.00! To me even if the ball joints you get are not greasable, you are still getting a superior product compared to the cheaper ebay/Chinese options out there.

    Well my Mevotech lower ball joint didn't last, beside what part of that is Mevotech? I bet the control arm is made by Moog, because it says Moog on the box. Not a bad thing. Then the ball joint is an SPC which is not to bad but I have no experience with that company. So maybe the bag of bushings & washers is Mevotech.

    Very interesting. I've been saying for a long time that most brands of aftermarket arms don't actually make their arms (fab shops aside). That box says Moog and Ray (raybestos?). Made in USA sounds nice to me.

    Yeah and the most expensive ones like Total Chaos don't even clear the coil bucket. Like seriously guys, how do you screw that up? I realize it's an easy fix but for $700 I shouldn't have to. It really makes me wonder if they did ANY testing.

    Personally, I would. The first SPC ball joints failed prematurely and that's why they switched to a greasable unit.

    Can you use theses with factory arms? , I was told to go with OEM for the lower ball joints after hearing many "fail stories"

    No. These ball joints only fit the spc uppers

    What @empty_lord said. Just to expand, they're a completely different design. The SPC joints use a giant nut on top to bolt into the arm with a square washer to adjust caster. Then are also held into the knuckle with a nut but have a spacer in the knuckle to accommodate that you've flipped the whole deal opposite from stock.

    They're a very nice setup I've got almost 30k on mine and am very happy with them.

    What up guys? I found this thread a few days ago and placed my order from Rock Auto. I just got these today and am happy to report that these are now shipping with the greasable ball joints! :thumbsup:

    Thanks a ton to the OP for finding these!

    On a side note, I see these come with high durometer poly bushings... have you guys noticed any additional NVH after installing these?
