So just got the email from Starlink - my cell is currently full - but they can offer “Best Effort” and once capacity expands I’ll be upgraded to regular residential. Given Ohio is not even technically “available” - I’m taking this as a good sign for the expansion to cover the Eastern portion of the USA they don’t already.

Im gonna accept - it’s for the farm so my options are either cell hot spot or ATT 10 (what I currently have). I was damn lucky to have even been able to get ATT - it was only by pushing with them that I was able to get it approved. Technically the node ends about a mile away at the main road - my parents got lucky when they lived there and a local tech hooked them up. When they left the house and my sister moved in - she kept the internet - and then when she no paid and they disconnected - they didn’t want want to reconnect.

ATT has been ok - it was down quite a bit to start but getting better of late. But still - no way could you consistently run 4k TV streaming over that speed - and given I already have streaming at home - just makes it much easier to have a speedy internet connection at the “spare” house to watch TV and not have to maintain another bill.

Now got to figure out what i am going to do for a mesh router. Think with the upgrade in speeds - I can expand the camera and add a few outdoor Wi-Fi cams as well on equipment buildings (currently just run a few nest cams inside and on garage/drive aside from the electronic locks).
