I’ve only owned Toyotas. Tundras (including a 2023 Tundra), and a ‘16 Land Cruiser which I’m debating on keeping. But when this unicorn popped up in Ohio, I flew up and drove it home this weekend. The double cab TRD Pro in Lunar Rock is just awesome to me. Really happy I found it. Just put 295/70/18 on it. No rubbing at all.

Yes, had to ditch the 23 even though I had it set up exactly how I wanted it. Something was just missing and Toyota wouldn’t fix the constant wind noise that tore my left ear apart. That’s when I got pissed and traded it in on the Land Cruiser.IMG_8944.jpg

Yes. CrewMax (my 5th Tundra) and the best of them all… between the Lunar Rock color and the capability and the technology (or lack thereof) it’s the best!

Well said! Yeah I briefly considered a 23 DC until I went and sat in the back…if you can call it sitting. I was more in the fetal position.

Make sure you get added to the LR club that RainMan (Casey) has going with all the LR folks in it and you can see all that everyone has done to their trucks…

Nice move. The older tundras have lines that are more appealing to my eye than this last iteration. Each to their own here but I think you got a much nicer truck overall. Time for the mods to begin.

Love this new truck, expect DC.... no offense, family comes first and I need the CM...
But damn, TRD PRO. I found a few that haven't been driven to the ground yet, but just none the right fit.....
Congrats on getting something you really want.

for sure if you’re going to use it as a family-hauler CM all day long. Plus you get the moon roof and full rear window.

Sliding rear window should be standard on all tundras. Not sure why they did away with this feature for DBL Cab's, when they redesigned the truck in 07. It's the one thing the DBL Cab is missing and I'm missing from my 1st Gen.

I’ve got the slider on my truck but the CM (in SR5 or higher) gets the full slide down window. Can’t squeeze the motor or space for window for that in the DC. It’s honestly one of my favorite features of the CM but I badly wanted the 6.5’ bed. Give and take…

Kids man, they grow up too fast and take too much space and food and resource.... (did I say that out loud?)
I have the full rear window but no moon roof, basic SR5 but I am happy with it.
That's also one thing that buffs me to no end, 1st gen I get it, the truck had limited space, but once it moved into 2nd gen, DC/CM changed mostly in the length of the cab, not the height. Unlike the 3rd gen with possible battery issue, there is nothing hindering the full piece rear window.
My kids love it, when the weather is nicer (read: winter, early spring, this is Houston we are talking about) they love to ride in the neighborhood with the rear down, it is nice.

Wish my DC had it. It’s one of the best features of the tundra. Bummer not to have it.

We could go round and round about the lack of the sliding rear window and its benefits and how much we miss it. And, I just really wish Toyota found a way to keep this feature on all their models. But I'm with you, the bed is more important than the cab on a truck. I'm 6'1" and have ridden in the back of my 1st Gen, and 2nd Gen on road trips to separate the kids and their "stop looking at me" fights. I've used this comparison before and I'll say that it's still more legroom than general boarding on a flight. Overall, I'm comfortable enough, and so are they. Kids are 5'10" and 5'11 respectively...

Just post up in the Lunar Rock Club thread (link in my signature) and I’ll add you to the list. Welcome!
There are days I miss the 6.5ft bed of my 2008 DC, but I’ve grown accustomed to it and love the extra cab space in my CM.

I am not sure why, but they should have offered a last MY21 with CM and LB, that would be a true unicorn, and the sales would be..... I don't know, but I guess people will snapped it like that.

I have a sliding rear window in my 08. or are you talking about the entire back window sliding down?

Yes, like a limo window. The first gen has it. The 2 gen and up only crew max has it.
