Thoughts on factory color keyed fender flares....Anybody have them? Thinking about adding them on. No rivets.

Welcome aboard. I think they look great but some people have issues with them rubbing through the paint so I recommend putting some clear bra under the seam where they meet the body.

So the factory installed ones have issues with rubbing through the paint where you can tell while they are still on? Not sure if I really understand what you are saying...and no clue what clear bra is. Ha. Thanks for the reply.

Factory or not flares will rub on the paint and carve in to it. You will only notice if you take them off. If you don’t plan on removing them you will be ok. He means a clear bra where the flare meets the fender that way you get no damage to your paint if you ever want to take them off. Clear bra is a clear film to protect your paint

Fender flares vibrate and move. Anything between the fender and your paint will cause that vibration to act like sand paper on your paint.

Clear bra like “3m” is a clear abrasion resistant plastic film that you can apply between the two surfaces to save your paint.

I had some bushwhacker flares which I hated. Took them off and went with a different brand and I can see the outline of where those were if I look real close. Like a tiny scratch that follows the line of the other flares.
