    Hey guys,

I'm looking into a used softopper for my first gen 2005 DC, the guy wants $500. I'd also have to pay him to ship it to me, although we are only about 4 hours apart. Anyone know if this is a fair price or what I might try to negotiate to? I offered $250 and he didn't want it. I've searched the forum and have seen threads of people either buying them new or finding one for a steal so not sure what a fair price could be.

Any perspective or info on how to go about finding a used one would be appreciated.

    Thanks

$500 is a fair price IMO (if it’s in good shape). I’m looking for a used one as well. I don’t see used ones available often, probably because people like them so much and decide to hang on to them.

Softoppers don’t really seem to drop much in price. I sold the one of my Tacoma for barely less than new after it was a couple years old. They hold up well and there is a good market for them. $500 seems pretty good to me.

Thanks for the info. Just bought the truck recently and have been putting money into it to get caught up on timing belt kit and lbjs, don't necessarily need the top right now but wondering if I should just jump on the deal as I'm not sure when I'll see another one.
