If your thinking of getting the EZ oil change valve from Amazon or somewhere else, check this out.

So the valve with the hose end is $40.83

$41 EZ-103(12mm-1.25) EZ Oil Drain Valve with removable Hose End Combo
Amazon.com: EZ-103(12mm-1.25) EZ Oil Drain Valve with removable Hose End Combo : Automotive

The valve alone without the hose end is $21.80
    [IMG]

$22 EZ-103 EZ Oil Drain Valve
Amazon.com: EZ-103 EZ Oil Drain Valve : Automotive

    The hose end is $7.62
    [IMG]
$8 EZ Oil Drain Valve (H-001) Straigt Hose End - 3/8" Straight, Small, Silver
Amazon.com: EZ Oil Drain Valve (H-001) Straigt Hose End - 3/8" Straight, Small, Silver : Automotive

So to buy them separately instead of together as a kit the total is $29.42, a savings of $11.41, use that savings to buy 3/8 hose to go on the end of the drain or better yet if you're worried about the drain lever being hit by something causing it to open get this, better than the wire ring clamp. $6.99
    [IMG]
$7 The Hillman Group 59737 11/16" Spring Action Hose Clamp, 12-Pack
    The Hillman Group 59737 11/16-Inch Spring Action Hose Clamp, 12-Pack - Amazon.com

    Silicone hose $5.99:

$6 Rebower 1m(3.3ft) 10mm(3/8") ID x 13mm(1/2") OD Silicone Tubing Clear Industrial Plastic Tubing Pure Silicone Hoses for Pump Siphoning Draining Irrigation Brewing
Amazon.com: Rebower 1m(3.3ft) 10mm(3/8") ID x 13mm(1/2") OD Silicone Tubing Clear Industrial Plastic Tubing Pure Silicone Hoses for Pump Siphoning Draining Irrigation Brewing : Industrial & Scientific

Get these 4 items together instead of paying $40.83 for the drain and hose end together and it's $42.40, a whole $1.57 more and all you need is a pan to drain the oil into.

I use Fumoto valves on all my stuff. Works great. Oil change on my Tacoma was easy with the filter on top.

I have no doubt that the Fumoto is a great unit. The post was more about saving money for those interested in the EZ unit. In reality it's a valve constructed in the same way with the only real difference being the mounting surface itself.

The big difference between the Fumoto and the EZ unit is the inner diameter of the drain itself with the EZ unit being larger (EZ unit on right). I'm sure that doesn't make much of a difference but when isn't bigger better sometimes?

Once installed, does its length protrude inside the oil pan, thus possibly not allowing the oil to completely drain?

That I am not sure, I have not received mine yet from Amazon. Keep in mind that the oil drain is not on the bottom of the pan, it's on an angled portion, the only way to get all the oil out is to lift the truck at an angle. The drain hole on the pan has a thread pitch of 1.25mm, at most I count 10 threads on the EZ unit from looking at the amazon photos, that would equate to a hair shy of half an inch. The pan most likely has a bolt or something welded to the inside of the pan so the plug has enough thread engagement, probably not enough to make a difference.

already slapped mine in there- I dont think the dealership would say anything but who knows.

For what it is worth on their website:

Fumoto has been granted Genuine Parts status in Japan by major auto and truck companies such as; Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Fuso, UD Trucks, and Isuzu.

They don't care, my son was a lube tech last winter at a local Chevy dealer, he said they would actually remove them to drain the oil because they didn't want to wait the extra minute for the oil to drain. I'm sure they don't care about if the valve safety is put back or the gasket is put back etc. I'll have it on hand to replace at my 25k mile oil change.

FWIW, the Fumoto has a secondary lock clip and the Valvomax is a step above both.

Fair enough —it's probably better to put it in once you don't plan to let the dealership change oil anymore.

I like to get the oil nicely warm (not blazing hot but up there)
Open the drain and let it flow. While that is going on I put a hose by the catch under the filter and then start to work on getting that unscrewed. By the time you get the old filter off, new one on and clean up things the oil will be done flowing from the oil pan.
Close it up the fumoto valve and put the extra lock on it.... you're done!

I really dont like going to the dealers for anything. Too many stories of them taking off skid plates etc and not putting them back on correctly or at all.

For those of you who have the fumoto, which model do you have? I have a F-133S I saved from my 2017 tacoma. 12mm-1.25. Will that work?

According to Fumutos website.... f133s looks like it'll work on the Tundra.

used the fumoto on my tacoma and now the Tundra. I just make sure the oil is warm, attach a small drain tube and put it directly in my oil recycling pan, take off the oil fill cap and go inside for a bit. No spills and no worries about leaks...

    • I was going to say EZ drain valves are a Chinese knockoff of the Japanese Fumoto valves. Like you I run Fumoto valves on all our vehicles. I love that I no longer have to remove 6-8-12 bolts to remove a skid plate to change oil. I just leave a short hose attached to the nipple tucked up onto the skid plate when not in use and bring it down to drain oil into my drain pan. not all over the skid plate etc.
