Extended Warranty Transferred to Buyer?

Have any of you sold your truck with an extended warranty still in service?

I'm going to sell my truck and I have a 7 year/100,000 mile extended warranty. I'm wondering if I can advertise that it has 2 years or 45,000 miles left on the powertrain warranty.

Does this transfer between buyers?

 

Not sure on that one. I know when you trade it in and warranty was purchased from dealer, you can get the remaining money back on the warranty. You have to fill out a form and they mail you a check. If you can't transfer it, may be worth a phone call to see if you can get the difference back to you.

I’ve done this in the past with a vehicle and gotten the prorated difference of the remaining warranty back via check. Nice little bonus if you do sell before the warranty is up. I’d call the Warranty CS and see what they say.
