If i just do the pipe i assume it needs to he welded on. Would that be more cost effective than to replace?
    I dont have a welder.

From that pic what little I see is needing replacement. That pipe doesnt look worthy of a new weld. Take it to a muffler shop and let them fix it. You might be out a hundo

There are plenty of guys on here that have replaced there muffler section with something else. I would be willing to bet someone nearish to you has one they would sell really cheap to you or possibly give it to you. Then all you would have to do is remove a few bolts, pull out the muffler section, replace, and reinstall the bolts.

If the muffler is still good and you're looking for a cheap fix, the shop will put a new piece of pipe on for you, weld it up and you're good.

There are plenty of brand new stock exhaust systems in the buy/sell/trade boards. What year is your truck?

Muffler is still good and the exhaust pipe afterwards is in great shape. Im on the covid income so cost is important. I will ring up a shop and look into that.

I was checking the classifieds as ZTundra suggested ive seen some new take offs for 350ish or that replacement muffler for under 200.

Ahh I had the 07-08 bastard exhaust system. They are still out there. You can still pick up a newer stock system really cheap and have the Muffler shop modify the pipes leading in. However nothing sound cooler than a Dirt Deeds Exhaust.

Thanks guys i will check my options. Good to know a pipe shouldnt be too hard or costly to fix. Im going to check the classifieds in my area, downside is theres not many tundras and if there is parts usually a few hours away.

Okay so after some searching looks like 2nd gen and 3rd gens are compatible and crewmax and double cab are as well. Only difference is double cab long box. Messaged seller regarding 2015 take off for $160. I would be happy to stay stock. If i can get it for a similar price to a pipe repair i may as well replace the whole unit. Thanks for all the help so far fellas

Edit, just double checked the connection at the converter, the catalytic converter looks good but where the two pipes connect it looks like the connection was welded and now rusted so i couldnt just bolt a new muffler on. Would a shop be able to fix that connection rather than replace that whole unit as well?

Exhaust shop will cut off the flanges and weld new ones on.
