Wondering if anyone has had experience dealing with this code. (Camshaft position B timing over-advanced)
I bought my 2010 Tundra a month ago and this code appeared shortly after bringing it home. It came off and on but suddenly more on, then I took it back to the place where I bought it, and the tech there said it would go away with a heavier oil change.
Today, for a different small issue, I took it in to a Toyota dealer and they say I need to basically rebuild the engine.
I wonder if there is a middle ground or if the timing can be adjusted? I will do the replacement if I have to but would rather not spend 6k.

    UPDATE:
Spoke to the Toyota Tech and they said that the timing chain has stretched, so gonna have to replace it :(
Anyone else do a timing chain kit at 275k+ miles? Feels like a new chain would add at least another 100k, but $6k for a repair on such an old engine, even as one as good as the 5.7, feels risky. Would it be cheaper to do an engine swap instead?
