I was able to get the Equus model# 8068 tach operational "under the hood" with temporary alligator clips to energize the red+ wire and ground the black- wire, and connect the inductive signal pickup on one of the sparkplug wires. So can anyone suggest the best ways to permanently connect: 1) the red+ wire to a "switched 12volt" terminal point; and 2) the white wire to the "dashboard lighting circuit", for night driving. Common sense tells me to connect the tach wires near the dash-mounted fuse box, but any help will be much appreciated. And always remember to "KEEP THE SHINY SIDE UP & THE GREASY SIDE DOWN"
    Regards and Semper Fi, Gordy

    Welcome!
Throw a post up in the first gen section for best results here. Throw a pic up of your truck there as well if that's yours in the profile pic.
Your best bet here for power may be a fuse tap in the internal fuse box depending on the current draw.

Hey NickB, I'll need to do some research, but your operative phrase is 'FUSE TAP'. Pretty sure that is exactly the solution I was hoping for. Thanks! Gordy
