I had this issue happen to me the other day on the turnpike while driving in the left lane and the truck suddenly didn't just reduce engine power, but eliminated it altogether limiting me to around 20mph as I tried to get into the shoulder.

This put me in a game of chicken momentarily with a tractor trailer who thankfully slowed enough to let me pass in front of him and out of the way of the other two lanes that were going typical 70mph+ speed.

Once on the shoulder, I was able to stop the truck and reset everything with a full stop and start, and then chose an earlier turnpike exit to get home. The issue hasn't occurred since.

To say this caused a dangerous situation is an understatement and so I have some questions.

    1. Can someone confirm there's a dealer fix for this issue?

    2. Has anyone else experienced this issue at speed?

    3. Any thoughts on why a "parking brake" issue would be suddenly mitigated by reducing engine power to almost nothing?

I've been a longtime Toyota owner of 7 different vehicles, but I'm getting really frustrated with all these issues particularly if safety may now be a factor.
