My 2007 Tundra Limited has been almost flawless in the 12 years I have owned it. Recently the environmental System has been waiting for about 45 seconds post-start up to get an indicator on the display. Then, I can turn on the A/C to cool the cab. Everything works after the delay...everything. Just have to wait for the environmental controls to turn on. Two things that I have noticed while experiencing this fault:

    1) if I "short cycle engine operation, if it has only been about 15 seconds from the time I turn the key off before I restart, the environmental controls do not delay operation

    and

    2) When the system does go through its delayed start, the only indicator that the system is "ready for use" is the floor mode light is lit, nothing else, just the guy "sitting" with an arrow pointing at his feet.

    Any ideas?

Welcome from OKC! First thought...:alien:. Second quick thought....Does this truck have an auto telescopic steering column? Sometimes the wires get damaged from the somewhat frequent motions with them and it causes electrical problems. Good luck!

    Hello from KC, Dan

Yes, my Tundra does have an auto telescopic steering column and it works fine. At first I wondered if you were onto something because o turned the truck off after pulling out of the garage this morning and the column didn’t move. Then I went to church and turned the truck off and pulled the key out, which made the steering wheel retract, like it should. Interesting how memory functions differently in certain situations.

Anyhow, thank you for replying. Still looking for assistance. Have an amazing day.

I was referring to the accesory wiring that goes from the ignition switch to the dash through that moving column. Sometimes the wires get torn or broken inside thst harness and result in electrical gremlins that can do strange things.
