Hello everyone. Yesterday I took a short round trip of about 350 miles. No issues what so ever. Today my wife and I decided to go do some shopping. I slowed at a corner to make a turn and when I went to speed up the Tundra was acting sluggish. Looked at the dash and saw the warnings, "ENGINE" and "TRAC OFF" indicators constantly on. Also the 4LO indicator was blinking. I had not put it into 4WD in the last 2 days. I used the 4WD system about 3 days ago in some torrential down pours.

The truck seemed to perform normally except that, when I really got down on the accelerator, the RPM's would rise but the vehicle would not speed up - like it was in 4 wheel low. If i drove it normally, it would go through the gears as it should and get up to speed. 50 MPH was the fastest I got it up to this morning.

This Tundra is a 2012 Double Cab, 4.6L, SR5, TRD, 4 wheel drive. No mods other than step tubes and grill emblem.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

    Robert

Sounds like an AIP failure. Search this site you’ll find tons of info on it. There’s luckily a bypass kit you can buy. You mentioned “torrential downpour”, that’ll start making sense when you dive into the AIP system.
