I’m asking for your help as I have an appointment coming up and would like to know if I should bring this to their attention. Is a ticking sound normal on a vehicle that had already been running for approximately 20 min on a 28-31 degree F morning? I can’t hear it with the hood closed but can with it open. It sounds like a rock in your tire when driving.

Not normal on any healthy engine. Especially something so new. I would definitely bring that to the attention of anyone who would take the time to listen to it.

I started it today and I don’t hear it. Maybe bc it’s warmer outside?

My money is on injector noise, but if you're concerned I'd just bring it to the dealer and ask. Doesn't sound like knocking to me.
