What a coincidence. I use the same. Preferably sourced from seas south of Argentina in the winter.

I heard from my sisters, uncles, nephews, wife, who is secret Toyota fluid dynamics engineer on the side and a NASA space shuttle engineer as a day job, that the winter Argentina whale oil causes sludge up and early blinker failure. She says you have to harvest them ONLY in the summer and only from the calm waters of Puget sound. Otherwise you might as well not use oil at all.

Makes sense. Puget Sound waters are calmer in the summer and makes it easier to kill the whales.

This is going to save me a ton of money…there’s no way I’m doing all that so I’m going with the second option of no oil at all.

I use Pennzoil 0-20 because it lets me run 37s with no suspension mods.

(Seriously, I do use Pennzoil with OEM filters).

What's wrong with the oil that's in there now? Did you damage it somehow?

I've have owned 3 Suzuki DF250 engines over the last 17 years and have put close to 20 thousand hours on them combined over those years. Oil changes every 50-100 hours. They are used commercially and I've used Suzuki oil in them exclusively. I've always done them myself, takes about 10-15 minutes.....8.5 quarts and a filter.....

The point of my question was that I know about spec meaning as long as your using the correct spec oil for your engine you can use whatever you want......but who uses Toyota oil over other brands......I doubt it would make a difference in performance as long as spec is in line.

Guess I should have posted or asked instead.....

Who's using Toyota oil exclusively when doing their oil changes....(to all you smartasses that responded)

Toyota doesn't make oil. The dealerships use the cheapest oil they can get, that's within spec of manufacturer requirements.

I've heard the car care nut guy say that they use the cheapest oil they can get at bulk, and it's not even the same oil as the Toyota oil you can buy........from Toyotas parts places.....

I know Suzuki puts "stuff" or additives in "their" oil......I also know aLOT of other guys who don't use Suzuki oil and run their engines hard and just use whatever's in spec.....

Guess it was a loaded question.......lol

Anyone know if Toyota alters the oil they sell (adds anything), we all know it's one of the big 3 oil companies with their name on it....anyway

I ran Mobil 1 0-20 in my Tundra when I owned it. I changed every 5 because of the FFV engine.

OP, my opinion is to just purchase a good synthetic oil and a good filter, I used OEM. Change it regularly and you won’t have any issues.

How dare you all run anything other than the oil with Toyota printed right on the label. Your entire truck was designed around that oil, 0w-20 only. The nerve, thinking you know more than the engineers who designed your truck!

If you can find the 0w8 oil used in hybrids and such, it’ll get you better gas mileage. I now average 23-24mpg.

Clearly you haven’t tried mobile one brand whale oil. Squeezed from only the freshest whales.

if you had I’m sure you would be converted by now.

There is no such thing as Toyota oil. Toyota doesn't produce engine oil and its made for them by a oil producer. Suzuki also doesnt make their own oil.
